Starting back with the ice age, and moving on to the First Peoples and the early Dutch settlements, you can see its history in the contours of the land.
The natural value of the river and its ecosystem is really important, not only for the valley itself, but for the whole country. It's just a wonderful place.

The Hudson Valley provides a wide variety of ways to experience New York.
The ecosystem — from the bee that's buzzing around us now, to the largest trees in the area — it should be protected because it's a beautiful natural resource.
In a world where water is becoming a limited resource, we have a lot of it. It's fun to explore. That means good fishing, good kayaking, good swimming when it's hot, and I think we're all very lucky to have it.

It’s not just a place to live — it’s a home.
The Hudson Valley combines a lot of cultural resources with a lot of natural splendor. When we have places like this that we value, we need to protect them for other people to discover.
The Hudson Valley is a place where agriculture and wilderness have found a place to coexist.
Besides the nature, you also have access to great little towns with awesome food, events, and culture.
I love the Hudson Valley because it's a mix of agriculture, art, culture, and food.

Stepping up to ensure this beautiful place endures for future generations.
The diversity of plant and wild life should be protected because, unfortunately, like everywhere in the world there's development and pressure for things to grow and there has to be a balance so that our beautiful, rural character is preserved.
The Hudson Valley should be protected because I have a deep belief in the ideals of, "carry it forward to the seventh generation." At the rate we're going, if we don't, there may not be a seventh generation, never mind all this beauty to present to them.
