On December 19, 2025, the Hudson River Protection Act, a bipartisan bill “banning additional anchorages once and for all” was signed into law as part of the Fiscal 2026 National Defense Authorization Act. Thanks to the tireless advocacy of elected leaders like Congressmen Pat Ryan and Mike Lawler, partner organizations, and the thousands of community members who spoke out, the Hudson River and the people and wildlife who rely on it will be protected from dangerous new barges for generations to come.
