Prior to becoming an urban planner blending twin passions for design and community engagement, Duane spent 11 years working for Oregon’s Rogue Farm Corps, which makes farming accessible to people historically underrepresented in agriculture. Now, he is leading collaborative, locally driven projects focused on Newburgh’s Quassaick Creek and Poughkeepsie’s Fall Kill Creek to address residents’ expressed concerns for safe places to enjoy the outdoors, trails offering non-motorized transportation and recreation, and opportunities to foster a deeper sense of belonging.
