Scenic Hudson staff met with Metro-North Railroad (MNRR) on September 20, 2023. During the meeting, MNRR clarified requirements that will necessitate changes to the design of the trail.
The new design will:
- Increase the trail setback from the tracks to 25’ from the centerline of the nearest track
- Include only one crossing over the railroad tracks instead of two, which eliminates the connection to Westchester Landing and the need for an ADA accessible Transit Connector between RiverWalk and Route 9, including on Paulding Ave.
- Provide opportunity for a separate project to improve bicycle and pedestrian facilities along Green Street between Tarrytown Station and the RiverWalk and perhaps farther to the north.
The drawings below reflect the essence of the changes. Precise renderings will be available in the spring of 2024.
